Hi Richard, I have the cemetery listings of the PENNELs who are buried in Pennel Hill Cemetery in Halifax, VT, including a Eunice PENNEL, daughter of Capt. James and Mrs. Hannah PENNEL, d. Oct. 2, 1787 in her 6th year. I had not heard of the possible France connection before. There were at least 4 John PENNELL or PENNELs in the same family that I know of: This is a rough draft; additions and corrections are welcomed. 1st generation John PENNEL m. Sarah [earliest] of Colrain, Franklin Co., MA [Massachusetts] and Halifax, Windham Co., Vermont [VT] [my 7 great grandparents], == 2nd generation Deacon John PENNEL [d. 1797] m. Eleanor SMITH [d. 1770] [my 6 great grandparents], == 3rd generation John PENNEL b. 1758 m. Jane HOLMES [1756-1846 ae 90 yrs.] [my 5 great granduncle], == 4th generation John PENNEL b. 1787 [my 4 great granduncle] === 5th generation etc. ================================================ Also, Capt. James PENNEL [d. 1827 aged 74 years] m. Hannah [d. 1831 age 75 years] are buried in Pennel Hill Cemetery, Halifax, VT. Hope we are newly found cousins, Jan in Vermont <jnrose@webtv.net> Notify Administrator about this message?
