Samuel Pinnell 1782

Hi there to all the Pennell's or Pinnell's reading this forum.
My name is Leon Pennell and I live in New South Wales Australia. I am a 6th generation Australian and I have a family tree that traces my ancestry back to some time after 1782 when Samuel Pinnell and his wife Sarah(Packer)came to Australia. They were married in Ludenham on October 1782 and had 7 children, James born 1783, Robert born 1785, Thomas born 1788, Matthew born 1790, William born 1793, Samuel born 1795 and Henry born 1797.
Can anyone help me with information for geanology prior to 1782. I am told that Samuel was transported to Australia for stealing 2 birds (ducks?) but this may just be a good story.

Thank you and regards, Leon Pennell
