It was a different one, Betty. Bartley Pace who married Elizabeth Taylor was the son of Silas Pace Jr.

Although the family of Richard (1699-) did spend time in Johnston Co, around the mid 1700s, I don't think the given name of Bartley Martin Pace came from that time. I speculate that he might have been named after Bartley Martin, a prominent Edgefield resident who served as a captain during the Rev War. That's just a guess though.
Sarah Pace, one of the sisters of Bartley Martin Pace, was my third great grandmother.
