Phyllis: I am fairly certain that you are wrong about this. Frances Pace's father, Murray Pace, moved to Clark Co KY from Fluvanna Co, VA in 1809. His two daughters by his first marriage, Frances and Polly and their husbands probably went with them as their 8 step-siblings definitely did. Frances Pace, b. abt. 1776, is shown as marrying Giles Richardson (or Richerson)10/28/1793 in Fluvanna Co, VA in the transcribed marriage record. I believe these early marriage records were written in script and could be difficult to read - it would be understandable if the name was interpreted as Richardson rather than the much rarer surname Richerson. Note that Caroline Co in VA was not far from Fluvanna Co and it was traditional at that time for a man to marry his wife in her home county. Also, Clark Co, KY was not far from Green Co, KY where your Richerson family settled. The crucial thing is this: How likely is it that a Giles Richardson married a Frances Pace and a Giles Richerson married a Frances Pace at the same time and in the same area of a relatively sparsely populated Virginia. I would say less than 1 in 100,000. Note that Giles is also a very rare given name. Do you have some specific information which would contradict that these are the same people? Gordon W.
