The thought is/was that William/Wilhelm (of the early NJ/PA German PACE's) son Michael left for Ontario. There is some documentation that a William Pace was a loyalist in the Rev War in NJ, but its not clear if he left for Canada because of that because it appears his family doesn't show in Ontario until the early 1800's. Michael had several sons, and that is the line I descend from (as well as the other male PACE that tested who's results didn't match with the other German lines). His DNA results didn't match with others in the German PACE group however.

I'd still like to see others from this line test because I'm not convinced his results weren't as a result of a illegitimacy or something along the lines. Its really odd that we'd have a well document line like this that traces back to the 1700's in New Jersey that not only doesn't match with the German Pace's, but it doesn't appear to match ANY other Pace's. Someone with the last name of Pace in New Jersey in the 1700's would seem to be a near shoe-in to connect to the German Pace's....and we know the Pace's in our line inter-mingled with other's from the Baumholder area in Germany in the 'german valley' of NJ.

A lot of evidence pointing to this being the German line, yet the DNA results didn't match.
