Hi Annmarie
The Kanes of Co Leitrim are usually assumed to be a branch of the Ulster Kanes, although given the proximity of Co Leitrim to Co Galway & Co Roscommon, it would seem more likely that your Co Leitrim Kanes are a branch of the Galway & Roscommon Kanes/Keanes.

If you have a male Kane relation willing to do a simple chhek-swab, and you used that do join the Cain DNA project at www.familytreedna.com, you would find out from your DNA matches which clan your family belong to.
