Your email may be incorrect, my message bounced.
We are not related. I did reply to a message you left on line and then later spotted this post. I was hoping that you were cousin Barbara in FL who did not (at one time) wish to participate. This is our Boston MA branch

Born Catherine Daniel (later changed back to O'Donnell) in Kilonerry Kilkenny in 1871 she came to NY after her brothers and sisters. She married Richard Bernard DWYER of Tipperary. The couple left Brooklyn and went to Boston Richard owned a bar with his brother Michael DWYER and Katie owned a beauty parlor. Son John b abt 1910 was killed in St Lo France in WWII when his body reached NY Minnie O'Donnell (of Long Island City Queens NY) escorted John back home to Boston he lies in rest at Holy Cross Malden, MA. Sadly Richard & Katie's grandson was later killed in Vietnam, Tommy Dwyer 1945-1969.

I found out through the cousins in Dublin/Kilkenny that our O'Donnell name was forced to Anglicize to Daniel. In 1901 John O'Donnell filed papers in Kilkenny returning the name to its proper O'Donnell. When Daniel is said with an Irish brogue it sounds like Dennell or Donal. Thank God for church parish records!
Our O'Donnell's were originally from Donegal but came for a war and stayed in Kilkenny several hundred years ago. In your Irish research remember to look for Daniel's also it could open an entire new avenue. Our family homestead in Kilkenny was built in 1806 and bought by the family in 1850. The original walls still stand and are still in family hands but they only do a small family garden and rent the fields out. We were luck enough to visit that farm and the Joy family farm in Tipperary two years ago.
We don't seem like a match but perhaps in a DNA test we might link! lol
