To John Brass,
thanks you for your message. I think you will have to accept Radclive.
Because we have many Meads at this village begining with Zachary Meads married at Radclive in 1742. We have several generations of Meads coming from him, all in the villages of Radclive, Gawcott and Stowe. These are all within a stone's throw of each other. The "E" which confuses you I think could easily be mistaken for an "S".
As far as their ages go I have to say some of these old boys didn't really know how old they were. All the records point to him being born in 1857.
We have a copy of the marriage in 1853 of William Meads and Sarah Warr (Definitely MEADS), these being Thomas's parents.
