I am looking for information about my great great grandfather Alexander Meadows. He was born May 1842 in Greenbrier Co. He married Mary Elizabeth Grimmett (her 1st husband was Jacob Richmond) in May 1862 when she was about 30 and he was only 20. I believe they had seven daughters and adopted a son Columbus Granville Meadows b. June 1895. Alex is listed in the Monroe then Summers Co. census records from 1870 - 1910 living in the Forest Hill & Talcott areas. He is listed in 1920 in Alleghany Co. VA as Elisander Meadows living with daughter Hannah Delila Hosy (Hosey, Hosea). Hannah's husband Lorenzo D. Hosey is an inmate at Western State Hospital in Stauton, VA in 1920 so I guess they maybe moved there to VA to be close to him. Anyway I believe Alexander probably died and was buried in VA as Delilah Hasey (Hannah) is listed back in WV in the 1930 census living in Summers Co. The marriage register for Alexander and Mary Elizabeth lists his mother as Rachel but no father is listed. I have tried to find his parents for some time with no success. I welcome any information about ancestors, death records, burial, theories, etc. I would really love to obtain a picture more than information but appreciate any help I could get. pdeeds007@aol.com
