In the 1840 census of lowndes county, Stevens Meadows lives alone and not with a wife and a child. I do not believe that there is enough evidence to say that Stephens Meadows is the Father of Mary Ann Elizabeth Meadows.
There is no evidence that Mary Ann Elizabeth Meadows "went to live with Ransom Meadows after Steven Meadows died". There is NOTHING to back this up...not a single documentation. If her Mother was Levina Sharpe, where did she go in the census records?
Also,in the petition filed by Gilbert Meadows re: Ransom Meadows estate, it does not look like the word Hardy or Hardey after Mary. It looks like another surname beginning with a K or N.
I would caution all to look at the research provided by Susan Aldridge as she weaves tales that are not backed by facts, and these tales tend to lean toward fiction.
