WOW! what great information you all have. I am not sure if I can help, but would love to contribute and also clarify my lineage. I know that many of my dates are in question as well as missing links and downlines in the family tree.
I am the daughter of Billie Mac Meadors from Alma, Crawford, AK, son of Earl Monroe Meadors and Ora Mae Huff.
Thus far on our pedigree chart I have:
Earl Monroe Meadors b: 16 Nov 1900, Alma, AK (not confirmed by documentation)d: 20 April 1958
m: 30 June 1924, Van Buren, AK to Ora Mae Huff b:6 Feb 1904 d: 1 Feb 1971
Earl's Father is:
Pete Monroe (PM) Meadors b: 30 March 1857 (this date is from the tombstone @Love Cemetry)d: 21 June 1922 m: ?1882 to who? Chattie Jennings or Della Grace English (2nd wife)
(1st Wife: Chattie Jennings b:Mar 15, 1855 on tombstone @Love Cemetry d: Dec28, 1896)
Pete and Chattie had three children: Eva Amber (married EV Chaffin), Ina (maybe stillborn?), and Ellis McKinley (married Mattie Hancock)
Pete and Della Grace had Edna Mae(married Stratton Douglas), Earl Monroe(my direct line), Lewis Sharp(died at age 2), Lucille Irene(married Allen Graham), William James (married Katherine White), Faye Elizabeth(married James Edgar Smithey)
Pete Monroe Meadors was born to:
William James (Wid) Meadors and Crittie Ann Moore, first wife
Wid's second wife was Jane Smith
I have the Children of William James (Wid) Meadors and Crittie Moore as:
John Fletcher, Granville, Jacob(Jake), James (Jim), Peter Monroe, Ellis Calihan(Calhoun?), Mahalia Ann, Elizabeth (Lizzie), Ollie, Mary and Lucy
William and Jane Smith children: William Wylie, and Alice Julia
Now this was the first trick in my discoveries:
William James (Wid) is the son of:
Jacob Morleley Meadors and Jane W. Harmon
I was told that Jacob M. Meadors was born in North Carolina
In his family there were three brothers: Jacob Morleley Meadors, William (Billy) Jones and Thomas who married the three Harmon sisters. Billy married Sally, Jacob married Jane W. and Thomas married Jean.
This must have caused some confusion in genealogy, because in 1999 I found William ( Billy) Jones Meadors and Sally listed on Ancestral File as the parents of William James (Wid) Meadors.
Now where I got lost was from here out: I thought Jacob Morleley Meadors was the son of John and Delilah Jones Meadors who was the son of Jason and Sarah (Sallie) Moberley Meadors who was the son of Jason Meadows(Meadors) and Elizabeth Stone??Looking at your posts this is not the case, so if any one has the pedigrees beyond Jacob and Jane circa 1799-1874 era that would be most helpful.
Anyhow it has been fun finding common relatives in your posts, would like to know more and share.
