I am a direct descendant of Sarah Meador and Absalom Rorie (my ggg-grandparents). Here is what I have on the family:
I thought "Meador" was a corruption of the family name Meadows, but in tracing its origins to England, I found that the name Meador began as Meade or Meades (which is an old English name for a meadow (meade). Here's what I have so far:
Lewis Meador, born in Virginia; died in North Carolina c1803/04; son of Jason Meador Sr. and Elizabeth Stone; married Susannah Moberly (Mobley), 1743, NC; d/o Edward Moberly and Susannah Deruel.
Children:
1. Isham Meador, married Frances Alsop (d/o Sally Rorie and Joseph Alsop)
2. Levi Meador, married Sarah Rorie (Absalom's sister)
3. Lewis J. Meador, married Rebecca LNU
4. Susan Meador, married John Grimes
5. Job Meador, married Lucy Rorie (Sarah and Absalom's aunt -- d/o William Rorie and
Judah Butler).
6. Sarah Meador, married Absalom Rorie (brother of Sarah Rorie; nephew of Lucy Rorie).
7. Mordecai Meador, married Rebecca LNU
Parents of Sarah and Absalom Rorie: James Rorie and Suesanna (sic) Buxton.

2. Judah Rorie, deaf and mute, never married
3. Hezekiah C. Rorie, m Louisa (Lou-I-sa) Ticer (my gg-grandparents)

I don't have the names of the children from the marriage of Levi Meador and Sarah Rorie, nor do I know who the parents of Sally Rorie were. I would appreciate any help and will gladly exchange info on our families. Wadesboro, Anson County, North Carolina, was where most of those listed above spent all or much of their lives.
