Can't help you on where Clara went, but in the 1880 census, Charles K. Landis lists himself as divorced. Charles and Richard are living with him.
Also, the 1870 census lists a child named Harry, b. Nov 1869. Any idea what happened to him?
I've been doing some tracking of the Meade family to see if there might be any connection to Margaret Mead, whose mother did work in Hammonton, a Charles K. Landis town. No possibility for any connection at this time.
