I am looking for information on a Caroline Meade.
She was married to William E. middlebrooks. They lived in Alabama. montgomery,limestone county?
Family rumor:
Caroline related to Gen.Meade. Any decendants on here come across her name in thier research? She had a son in 1888 in RAMER or ATHENS, ALABAMA. She died 8 months after his birth from scarlet fever. His name was Hebert E. Middlebrooks{my grand dad}. Far as I know, he not her only child. Herbert had older sister/s. She may have possibly been owner or relative to owner of 35,000,00 acre cotton plantation in Snowden ,Alabama where Herbert was raised. Her husband was a Doctor. Her husband later remarried after her death to a Caroline Lawrence they lived together on this plantation. The plantaion was hit by a tornado in aprox. 1911. William and c. Lawrence were both killed by the tornado and thier son Henry was badly injured. Herbert was not there he was at work when the storm hit.
My Family trying to figure out if William was living there with both wives or just the second. If the plantation was Williams or one of his wives. Also we know little about Herberts biolodgical mother{caroline meade}.
