The best source for the Mead family is a book by Spencer Mead called "History and Genealogy of the Mead family". You can read it here: http://www.lib.byu.edu/fhc/index.php The information on Laura Mead and George Norstrant is on page 356. It's pretty accurate, mostly, though lines tend to peter out after about 1800. Also before William in 1600 it's not very good. For the family history in England, I have more information here: http://koti.welho.com/lmead/page4.html Click on the link for Watford, Herfordshire on the right. That's where William came from, born in 1592 and married Philippa. His father had the unusual male name of Prescilla (there were four generations of men in a row with this name) and his grandfather was Richard. Richard Mead was married in Watford in 1545.
