My 3G-Grandfather, William H. Mead, was born 1810 in NYC, NY.

He married Elizabeth Matilda Young in 1832 at Christ Protestant Episcopal Church at 71st & Broadway, NYC, NY.

Eliza is the dau. of John Young (deYoung?) and Catherine Creamer.

He lives in Wake Co., NC in 1850.
In 1860 his family is in Kankakee, IL, but he is not there.
In 1870 he is in Havilah, Kern Co., CA., he the assayer, Havilah is the county seat.
In 1875 he died in Havilah, Kern Co., CA.
He was buried in Kankakee, IL.

His eldest dau. Elizabeth was born in Brooklin in 1836. His eldest son Fabius was born in Raleigh, Wake Co., NC. in 1839.

This seems SO CLOSE to what you posted to Eileen in 2006, but doesn't quite fit... any thoughts?

Could my William H. Mead be a nephew of Jesse & Ann Mead?

Thanks!
