Two brothers from New Jersey shortly after 1800 moved to the Conquest and Mentz areas of Cayuga Co.,N.Y. One of them was named William the other Giles. I believe they were of Dutch not English ancestry. Someone mistakenly appears to have included them in the English Connecticutt Mead Family many of whom also did settle in Cayuga Co. I believe another member of the family though older fallowed them later to the same area alsoI must be related to you.I come from a John Mead b. 1804 N.J. died in Medina Co., Ohio next generation Albert Cyrus Mead b. 1825 Cayuga Co., N.Y. m. Medina Co., OH then Moved to Ingham Co., Mich.I believe John was a son of William or Giles.I want to tie into the Dutch Meads of Bergen Co., New Jersey back to the 1600's BRIAN KELTNER
