Hi,

Yeah I'm on the same boat as you. I don't know about those tax records you have. But I'm looking for where Joseph Mead was born somewhere in New York. He and his family migrated to Indiana. He married to Rhoda, last name unknown. He had sons Stephen Mead b. 1800 and John Mead b. 1813, and a daughter Dorcus born about 1807. All were born in New York, same as their mother. Joseph and Rhoda were born in 1775 since they were 75 years old in a 1850 Census. I found them in 1840, but can't find them before that. It seems like I hit a brick wall. There's a possibility that Joseph and Rhoda has another son, James Mead b. 1813 and was single working on farm in two of censuses. I seen him in the same town as Joseph and 2 sons. I just wish that Beyond the 1850 Censuses, they should have listed everybody in the household, now that is tough to work on.

Good luck and please let me know if you were of any success, and perhaps we could share the information.

Renee
