Hi - Saw your posting and it rang some bells. I am currently researching my Mead family. I have a Samuel DODD Mead b. abt. 1814 NJ, d. 1856,married Mary Crane. They had many children, one of whom was Jacob K. b. abt. 1846. Although he is obviously not your Jacob K., I wonder if he is a namesake as the name DODD comes in. My Meads settled in Montclair, Essex Co., NY but a daughter of Samuel and Mary married in Bloomfield TWP in 1863 so I think these families might tie together. Was there any other info in the transcription you did that might sort this out?
