Hi Julia,
When you are looking for someone who is elusive you find yourself writing down everything you find about anyone with the same surname. So I don't have any documentation on the following, but it will get you started:
A Diana Mead married a Stimpson. Her parents were Helon Mead, (1801-1876)born in Conwall, VA and died in Keokuk, KY.
Mom was Lydia Minerva Barnes. Syblings were: Hiram, Lavonia, Lenonora, Balerma, William, Oscar, Durand, Helon, Mary J., Orvilla Minerva. Daddy Helon's parents were: Ezra Mead Jr.(born in Rutland, VT in 1766 and Hannah Jane Sampson. Besides Helon they had:
Silas, Hannah, Stillman, Ezra and Polly. Ezra Mead, Jr.s '
parents were: Ezra Mead Sr. born 1737 in Hartford, CT and died 1790 in Rutland, VT..and Typhena Burton. Ezra's parents were: Timothy Mead born in Greenwich CT April 22, 1701 and died in 1790 in Manchester, VT and mom was Sarah Bouton. Timothy's parents were Jonathan Mead I and Martha Finch. Jonathan's parents were John Mead I born in 1634 in Greenwich, Lydd, Kent Co., England and Hannah Potter born in 1636 in Stamford, CT. Search on those two and you should find tons of info on the web, as most of the Meads in the US descend from them.
