I am looking for information on Ann McKean who married John Toy in 1840. At the time she was residing in Cowcaddens, Parish of Barony, County of Lanark, Scotland.
According to shipping documents Ann was born in Glasgow and John Toy was born in Donegal, Ireland. They had 2 children (Margaret and Peter) in Glasgow and then moved to Dundee where they had 4 more children (John, Mary Anne, William and Catherine). In 1855 they emigrated to Van Diemens Land (Tasmania, Australia) and just before reaching their destination Ann died giving birth to Thomas.
Margaret Toy is my husband's great-grandmother; she married Frederick Smith Mills in 1859 in Tasmania and they later moved to Melbourne.
If anyone can relate to this family I would love to share information.
