I have an 1880 census for Gravesend, Kings, New York which lists a John McKane, age 55, born Ireland with wife Martha, age 53, born Ireland, sons Robert, age 28, born NY, Theodore, age 22, born NY and George W., age 16, born NY. I believe that this John and Martha were the parents of my great great grandfather William McKane, but as yet have no proof. Do any of these names ring any bells??
