Francis McCain is as far back as I can go. I don't know anything about his family or his wife's name yet. I know Francis McCain was living in Ezra,(?) when his son Dock (my great grandfather)died. I have a newspaper clipping about Dock's death my Dad just gave me last night. Some of it is hard to read. Dock M. McCain was a World War Vet. He died at age 40 from a shotgun wound. His foot slipped going down a hill to set a trap for a groundhog and he dropped his shotgun and it fired and hit him in his left thigh. He was a former resident of West Frankfort(?) and was presently living in Mingo,MO. He had worked at Old Ben Mine 15 at Ezra and is buried at Denning Cemetery. He died 11-13-1932. The clip said his servivors were his wife and 3 chldren Violet 12 (my grandma), Mildred 9, and Alfred 7. His father Francis McCain of Ezra, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. They are Rev. J.L. McCain of Ezra, Marion McCain of Carterville, Mrs. Pearl Ward of Chandler,OK, and Mrs. Rosa Stage of Poplar Bluff MO. If you think any of this fits your Francis McCain, you are welcome to e-mail me and we can talk more.
