Can anyone postively identify the Jane Pickens Davis, 2nd wife of Hugh McCain? Supposedly according to tradition, Jane Pickens Davis had a previous family, including children before her marriage to Hugh McCain, between 1790-1805. She was supposedly born abt. 1741 in North Carolina, and died June 26, 1820.
In my files, I only have one Jane Pickens that fits age-wise is Jane Pickens, daughter of Robert Pike Pickens and Miriam Davis, b. 1744. Is this the same Jane that later married 1) unknown (Davis?), and 2nd) Hugh McCain? Perhaps someone has some documentation that can prove this relationship and have records of her first husband and children?
