I do not have a son George McCain for William Baskin McCain.
(1) Hugh Parmer McCain (b. 18 Jan 1825 - d 11 Oct 1826
John Newton McCain (b. 16 Nov 1829 - 07 Dec 1862. enlisted Pvt, Co C, 39th MS Inf Rgmt, CSA, 22 Apr 1862: became ill, admitted to hospital, Brandon, MS 5 Dec 1862, died 7 Dec 1862; body laid to rest in Miles Cemetery, Morton, MS.
(2) Robert Harrison McCain (b.18 Mar 1840 - d 23 Nov 1863). Enlisted co I, 19th GA Inf at Calhoun, GA 01 Aug 1862; wounded in battle & admitted to Gen Hospital, Staunton, VA 23 Sep 1862;contracted dysentary and sent home on furlough 02 Nov 1862; died at home 23 Nov 1863. Buried Bethel Baptist Church Cem near Temple, GA.
(3) Andrew Hamilton McCain (b. 01 Dec 1841) enlisted 1st Rgmt, GA Cav , CSA, Carrollton, GA 01 May 1862; captured Lexington, KY 5 Nov 1862; taken first to Louisville, KY; then to Vicksburg where exchanged aboard the steamer Metropolitan 4 Dec 1862. He either died during the war or before the 1870 census.
(4) Benjamin Jasper McCain (b.8 Dec 1842 - d 20 Feb 1918) Enlisted Co D, 10th Rgmt Cav, GA State Guards (Capt B.M. Long's Co) 27 Jul 1863 Hickory Level, Carroll Co, GA; fought in two battles, both Coosahatchie; mustered out at Camp Mobly near Rome, GA 27 Jan 1864.
