I'm looking for any information about Henry Mayle and his wife, who is said to be a Phillips. Henry was from Nevis Island in the Antillies, was a ship Captain, and settled at Newtown, Long Island about 1681. I will post to this record the source records I've found for him along in a followup to this posting. Here’s a reference from a genealogical book that claim to relate him by marriage to a sister of Theophilus, Joseph, and Daniel Phillips of Newtown, Long Island, New York. Any new information would be greatly appreciated.

From History of Richard And Francina (Hart) Phillips and their Descendants Including a brief account of their Ancestry, Collateral Lines and Items of Interest, compiled by Henry Hackenbracht West Lafayette, Ohio, published at Ann Arbor, Michigan, 1951. Hardcover book now available again as a reprint in 2007 from Higginson Books.

Zerubbabel Phillips (3) settled at Southampton, Long Island and died there later than 1689. The name of his first wife is unknown since there are no records of that time in existence. By her he had a son Theophilus born in 1653. He married Ann White in 1663 and Martha Herrick in 1681 (Actually 1687, typo?). He had two other sons Daniel and Joseph and a daughter, who married Capt. Henry Mayle of Novis Island who later moved to Newton, Long Island. Zerubbabel was Commissariat and Ensign in the Long Island Militia in 1657 and Lieut in 1678
