Hi

I don't know if you have information on Origin's lineage. There's an article in TAG by John A. Leppman which lists John, who seems to be the father of Origin if I have interpretted the VR correctly. Leppman has information on the Maxim's back to Samuel ("first recorded in Sandwich, Mass. in 1703/4") That John (John, Jr. in the VR I believe) was the son of John and Martha (Norris) Muxham. John Sr's parents were Edmund and Abigail Ellis Muxom, about whom there are some colorful stories, and Edmund is the son of Samuel, the first known in the line, and Hannah Perry, who is a descendant of William Brewster of the Mayflower.

I don't know anything about Origin beyond what was in the VR--this isn't my Maxim line, I just have some records I can check.

John Jr., according to Leppman, had 4 wives. In my first reply I mentioned Ellen Pratt and assumed she'd be Origin's mother, but she died in 1830. Then there was Sarah (Mulford) Reed, b. 1806 and d. 1862, which interestingly is the date I believe that you gave for Origin's death--could be coincidence, or could be an illness caused both deaths. Then there was Sarah (Custus) Lawrence 1814-1901. Incidentally, the death of John is given as 1883 in Carver.

Unfortunately the article does not go to Origin's generation or confirm that Origin is the son of this John.
