Carver VR p. 43 has Origin Clemmons Maxim, b. Aug 28, 1836, ch. John Jr. There are other children listed including some children of John Jr. and Susanna. In Carver Marriages there is a marriage of John Maxim and Susannah Pratt, June 14, 1818. p. 113. , however she died Feb. 20, 1829. There was a marriage intention listed for John Maxim and Elen (sic) Pratt, Nov. 24, 1829. Susannah was born Oct 6, 1796 to Isaiah and Ruth Pratt according to the Carver VR, and Ellen was born to them Mar. 22, 1814--both are listed as being wife of John Maxim--the source for these dates in the VR being a gravestone record from Union Cemetery, South Carver where several of the family are buried. "Junior" was used in early records to indicate the younger man of the same name in a town, and did not necessarily imply any family relationship. There is a John and Martha listed of the right age to be the parents of John Jr., but I find no indication of whether they were--Martha's birth is listed from a gravestone record with no surname.
