I know that my Gx2 grandfather (Alexander Mackie) left Scotland somewhere between 1877 and 1881 and came to New Zealand. He was born in 1861 in Banff. He married Ada Willey in 1895 in Hastings, NZ. He died in 1937 and is buried in Dannevirke, NZ. I would like to know what happened to his father, 2 sisters and brother.
His father (Alexander Mackie, b:1831/Fyvie, Shoemaker)
Sisters Elizabeth (b:1862) and Margaret (b:1865)
Brother William (b: 1866/Longside, Aberdeen)
His mother Ann Watson died in 1870 in Longside/Aberdeen. His father Alexander remarried in 1875 in Longside to Elizabeth Park she died in childbirth in 1877. When the next census was taken in 1881 the family cannot be found in these records. Which leads me to believe they all left Scotland. However I am unsure where. If anyone can help me, would be appreciated.
