Pamela,
I am very interested in getting more information from Pamela about the below mentioned John Lett b 1806, and the sources for same:
"John LETT was in OTTAWA LASALLE CO IL and the family bios never mentioned him but for 1 time in an obit. I WAS TOLD HE WAS PART OF THEIR 1849 GOLD RUSH EXPEDITION TO CALIFORNIA AND HE DIED c1850. A LOT OF LETT IN-LAWS DIED IN 1850 LASALLE CO ILLINOIS."
It seems we Montgomery / Lett genealogists of this branch of Letts have lost track of this John or have no trail for him after the family left Canada. Am also interested in the "their 1849 Gold Rush Expedition" reference and just who went on that expedition. And the death date of c 1850. One of John's brothers-in-law (his 3 Lett sisters married Springstead brothers) is known to have gone to the Gold Rush along with that brother-in-law's brother-in-law who died just after returning from CA.
