Depends on which Lett families you mean.

The ones in Pike,Knox, Gibson and Perry Counties (related to Randall Lett) came from Georgia via Kentucky. Before that is speculative, but almost surely goes back to Virginia.

The ones in Jefferson, Jennings, Jackson, some of whom later went northwest to Howard, Clinton, Tipton and some of whom went to Illinois and Missouri etc also came from Georgia, via Kentucky, although a different part of Kentucky.

The ones in Huntington, Adams, Wells, etc, counties seem to have come from Ohio, but I know the least about them.

So are any of these the ones you had in mind? Wich ones are yours?

If you are talking about their origins before the US, your guess is as good as ours for now--but some of them seem to have come from England.
