Hi Lynne! Thought this posting was rather interesting and have copied it for my family file. My husband is a direct descendant of Antoine Louis Descomps dit Labadie and the Indian woman that you read about in that book. According to Dennisen, the offspring of Anthony and the Sauteuse Indian woman took the dit name of Badichon. Also from another source, the woman's name was Mannon who was the daughter of Chief Pontiac. Dennisen also has only seven children listed from this union, one of them being Mary Descomp dit Labadie dit Badichon born Oct. 25 1782 Assumption, Sandwich who married there Oct 7 1799 Benjamin Gregoire dit Nantais born 1772, Montreal, bur May 26 1854 Assumption, son of Peter Gregoire dit Nantais and Mary Ann LePine. This is my husband's line:
Floyd Marvin Joseph Nantais
Father: Joseph Nicholas Nantais
GFather: Joseph Honorius Nantais
GGFather: Nicolas Agapitus Nantais
GGGFather: Benjamin Gregoire dit Nantais
GGGGFather: Peter Gregoire dit Nantais
Would really enjoy reading more about the Labadie Family and will try to see if I can get a copy of the book you mentioned. My mother in law's family, the Langlois, are also connected to the Labadie family but not as directly. You can email me if you like at
