Hi all.
Ok we are moving forward!!!
I had the pleasure of spending most of last Thursday with J.W. and Opal Elder of North Carolina. JW was the organizer of the first Elder homecoming in 1988.
He has lend me a large amount of information and I will be reading it over the next few weeks.
We need people to step forward and agree to serve as officers and board members of the William Elder of Maryland Descendents Association, Inc
The Organizing officers will serve from now until the reunion in 2011 where they can stand for election or bow out. I agree to serve as the first president unless someone else wants to do it.
I have decided to implement the ONE JOB only rule. If a member agrees to serve in a role that person will be asked to only do that job.
The Treasurer will not also be asked to handle memberships or organize a reunion.
One person and one job at a time.
We need a lawyer to set up out 503c non profit and other legal work.
We need a treasurer to over see the opening of a bank account and the establishment of a Pay Pal account.
We need a webmaster to over see the management of a website.
We now have a membership chair!!!! Judy Henderson.

Memberships will be sent to her to process and forward fees to the treasurer. We can put all of this on line once we get a webmaster.

If you have stories about our Elder ancestors and would like to share please send them to me. If anybody wants to serve as Editor of the newsletter please drop me a note. We will also need announcements of births, deaths, marriages graduations and any other life events you would like to share.
