Since they married in the states, I would recommend that you try to get to see what sort of information the church has. You need that name of a village.
If they came thru Ellis Island than they should be there.

It is possible that they came thru Baltimore,Boston or Philadelphia. Need to locate their manifest which should have the name of a village. The thing that there is a mention of Czechoslovakia, I am leaning there. The former country of Czechoslovakia separated into Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. What religion were your ancestors?
The surname Kovacs / Kovac^ is just like Smith in US. I have a Kovac in my tree.
12 BERESNYAKs and BEREZSNYAKs came thru Ellis Island.
A spelling BREZ^N^AK, BREZN^AK and BEREZN^AK lists in Slovak Republic.

Were they naturalized citizens? Did you look at the 1930 census? That one might have some more information.
