Hello,
I am trying to connect with someone who may have served with my Dad. I lost him in April and am working on a memorial for him. Hamilton King Avery II, Lieutenant Colonel, USAF, Retired. He graduated from West Point Military Academy 1941. He trained as a pilot in B-24's and A-26's and flew in Egypt, Libya, Romania, Naples and Normandy. He served in the 98th Bomb Group/Pyramidiers. On 1 Aug 1943, led by Col. John Kane, they took off to bomb the Ploesti Oil Fields. I have some great pictures of his crew and hope some of them are still living. He was assigned to the Royal Canadian Air Force Intelligence Ottawa, Canada. Then was transferred to the Far Eastern Air Forces, Tokyo, Japan in 1953 during the Korean War. In 1957 he was reassigned to the Pentagon, Washington, DC, Intelligence Department where he served until he retired in 1961. Could anyone help?
Thank you for any information
