Hi Kathy,
I am descended from the William Koger line, as well. In fact I have a double connection. My great-grandparents were both from this line and were 2nd cousins. We didn't know this while they were living, but unfortunately discovered it after they had died. Charles Cagle was the first child of William and Mary "Polly" Bookout. The 3rd child in this family was William M. Koger(who married #1 Eleanor C. Wood. She is often referred to as Nell or Nellie. #2 Malinda Carson. From this second family comes their 8th child, Charlotte(Known as "Lottie")who married John Miller Burke. Their first son was Wesley C. Burke who was my great-grandfather.
The 5th child of William and Mary "Polly" was Alvin Koger(who married Sarah "Sally" Lovelace). Alvin and Sarah "Sally" had 11 children. #6 was Charles Koger(who married Nancy Florence Ryan). Charles and Nancy Florence had 5 children. Savannah Myma was their 4th child. She married #2 Wesley C. Burke(as above)and became my great-grandmother. Savannah and W.C. left Kentucky in 1915(possibly under some suspicious circumstances)and emigrated to Alberta, Canada. They were able to purchase land in southern Alberta and began farming. W.C. was also a building mover, and his business remained in the family for three generations.
I have a lot of information on Charles Cagle and Sytha Rice. I was given a xeroxed picture of Sytha, but as photocoping is not a great way to reproduce photographs, it is not a good image. If you have any photos of Charles, Sytha or their family and are willing to share, I would love to have them. Maybe we can also correspond about Charles and Sytha's family and find out where you fit into the family. Thanks for contacting me. Looking forward to more messages. - Carla R. Nelson
