Thomas James Keane of Mundelein A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas James Keane, 68, formerly of Chicago is 10 a.m. Saturday, at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 348 Mill St., Wauconda. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 W. Maple Ave. (two blocks west of Route 45 on Route 176), Mundelein. Born Sept. 29, 1940, in Chicago, he passed away Aug. 25, 2009. Tom spent most of his career working for the US Postal Service, retiring as a US Postal Inspector in 1993. He will be remembered for his great Irish hospitality and his love of being around family and friends. Tom will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol (nee Keller), to whom he was married for 48 years; children, Thomas Keane of Lake Villa, Kathi Keane of Grayslake, Maureen (Craig) Polte of Elmhurst, Michael (Kristina) Keane of Port Barrington and William (Jennifer) Keane of Grayslake; three handsome grandsons, Matthew, Jack and Sean; 10 beautiful granddaughters, Megan, Kelly, Lauren, Caitlin, Elise, Grace, Clare, Wendy, Caroline and Amy; sisters, Anna Mae Keane, Gerry Lechner, Dorothy Keane and Sally (Patrick) Dolphin; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, William; sister, Sally; brothers-in-law, Robert Lechner and Roland Carpenter; sister in-law, Mary Keane (nee Mullahy); and his parents, William and Ann Keane.
