While having the same surname, Kean, and having Manchester residence in common makes a good start, the real answer to whether these different Kean families in Manchester are related lies in DNA. This is an ideal tool for bridging gaps in the paper trail. It can save many lost hours following false or assumed relationships. Keane, Keane & other variant names are represented in the Cain DNA project at www.familytreedna.com
If indeed the Keans of Manchester came from Co Waterford, DNA will most likely establish that also. We have a number of members with the "South Irish" haplotype of DNA, so may have some Co Waterford Keans already.
