Hi Debbbie - I just started tracing the Kean family so I am not sure if I have the right line yet as I am waiting on a marriage of Frank Clarke to Sarah Kean (formerly) Capewell. If the Sarah I have found is the daughter of John Burgh Kean (b 1894) then I have found that there are 2 David Kean born abt 1827. The name of Burgh may have come from miss-hearing name of g.mother Brough:-

1775       David Keene       m Mary Robertson
1796       Ann
1798       Jean
1800       Lilly
1805       James Kean
       1826       m Margaret BROUGH
       1827        David
1849 m Eleanor Thomson (Sunderland)
1851 James Joseph (Sunderland)
1854 John Burgh (Sunderland)
1856 Elizabeth Thomson (Sunderland)
1860 Charles Edmund (Salford)
       1831       James
       1833       Margaret
       1835       John
In 1841 census David with family in Sunderland
In 1851 census they have a servant called Jane Thomson

1808       David Keene
       1827       m Isabella PATTERSON
       1827       David
1831       Isabella
In 1841 census David & Isabella are with Pattersons grand-parents? in Paisley

1810        Mary

If you have any information on the Sarah Kean I have found please email me on Sandi_Gill@yahoo.co.uk
Thanks
