1850 census of Berkely Co., Va. showed a Robert Cain, 43; wife Mary 40; daughter Mary 16; daughter Alice 14; sons Francis, 5; Robert, 3 and daughter Margaret 1.
Next found 1860 same place with Mary Kain, 50; Francis 15; Robert 13; Margaret 11; Mary Harper 5; Kate Harper, 2; John O'Conner 4 and Delilah O'Conner 3. Adj. this census to Ellen O'Connel family. Ellen O'Connel in a hh 1850 with a Thomas Pryor who married Alice Kain..in 1860 census.
1870-80 family found in Baltimore Co., Maryland with mother, sister Maggie, Frank J. with wife, Maggie.
unfound after that, but both Frank and Robert were telephone/telegraph linemen. In 1910 Robert in 16th ward of Baltimore with wife Mary F. married 28 years (1882) and 5 of their children living with them-Frank 26 also a electrician for telegraph; Margaret F. 23; Marie E. 20; Alice C. 17 and Willia J. 15.
Alice C. Cain/Kain who married Thomas Pryor was my gr-great-grandmother...lived in Licking Co., Ohio 1890-til her death. Sons Thomas F.; Hugh; John, daughter Mary Ellen; Anna Rebecca and Alice C.
My grandmother (Alice's granddaughter) always told me she had cousins lived in Baltimore, Maryland. Searching for grandma's cousins children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren!
