Aloha Kaydene, My name is Evangeline Yap. My mother was Loretta Pahukoa, a younger sister to your great grandmother Helen Kahalewai Pahukoa. I am happy to meet you. It is good that you are looking for your ohana. Your grandmother's older sister, Alvina Kalehua Tau'a Akiu lives in Keanae, Maui. We visited with her last year and she spoke of your grandmother. After your great grandmother, Helen Kahalewai Pahukoa Tau'a was killed in the Tsunami of April 1, 1946, Alvina came home to care for her younger brothers and sisters. She lives in the same house that her father, Gabriel Tau'a moved the family to after the tsunami. We have quite a lot of information about your Tau'a and Pahukoa ohana. If you go to findagrave.com and enter your great grandmother's name, you will find a picture of her and all of her family. In fact, we were given your message about the Tau'a and Pahukoa ohana by a man who will go to photograph your grandparents graves for us. We were fortunate to find your grandfather's obituary to find where he is buried because all Alvina could tell us is they died on Big Island. I look forward to hearing from you. We have a lot of information we would like to share with our ohana that is interested. Our data base shows 1442 ohana from Thomas Pahukoa and Malia Monono but very little about the big island ohana. This makes me very excited to know more. Aloha Notify Administrator about this message?
