Thanks for the information. I believe that Bagamer was and still is part of Hungary (eastern part of the country). I also know that it is not a very large town. There was a small community of Jews in town before WWII but non are living there now. I am not sure what his religious background was... he could have been Catholic, Reformemist, or Jew. My wife's great grandmother, Julia Nyuzo, was still living in Bagamer when her daughter, Julia Anne Vas, left for America. I am not sure if they were originally from Bagamer. My wife's mother was raised Catholic, so I am assuming that the family was Catholic.
