HARTZUG – HERTZOOK – HARTZOK – HARTZOCK - HARZOK
In 1979 when I began my genealogical research, I could get nowhere with my great-great grandfather. The Internet has helped with genealogy research considerably as people have uploaded to sites. Unfortunately – I still can find nothing on my great-great grandfather.
I am posting the information I have in hope that somewhere, someone can help.

m. (1) Susannah NICKEY b. 7 Jan 1828, m. 16 Nov 1850, d. 7 Jan 1854 (possibly of childbirth fever as she died 3 days after their daughter was born.)
Susan HARTZUG, white, female. Father: _______ NICKEY.
Occupation: Farmer's wife. Husband: John HARTZUG. Died: 7 Jan
1854, inflamation of the ??????, Northampton Twp., Franklin Co.
Buried: Newburg, Cumb. Co. Person returning certificate: Dr. Wm.
Runkin. Date of certificate: 10 Apr 1854.

In the 1880 census of Greene Twp., Franklin Co., PA, John HARTZOCK is listed as living with Catherine A., his wife, his daughter Susan, his son Isaac W., his daughter Anna M. and his daughter Alice M. probably born in 1878 as she is 2 years old in 1880.
