I am new to the genealogy game, but found your information very useful and interesting. I am taking up the banner because of a promise to my grandmother who initiated the process and left a box of documents, letter, and copies of family bibles that I am still attempting to get from my mom. Presently, I have only information i have gleamed from gedcoms, census records, and some indexed books at the local library genealogy section.
My grandmother was Mary Katherine Hartsock,1 daughter of Guy Myers Hartsock and Violet M. Lewis,was born on 13 Sep 1917,1 died on 26 Dec 1996 in Carlsbad NM 1 at age 79, and was buried (plot, actually she had my sister scatter her ashes in three locations of Hartsock Family in Indiana) in Darlington, IN.
My great grandfather was Guy Myers Hartsock son of Elias Jones Hartsock and Hannah Ann Myers, was born on 13 Apr 1891 in Wilmont, Indiana.
His father was Elias Jones Hartsock son of Benjamin Hartsock and Lucinda Davault/Devault/Devalt/Debolt, was born on 30 Oct 1858 in Washington Twp., Noble County, Indiana.
Benjamin was supposedly born in Franklin County Ohio and his parents Benjamin Hartsock and Hannah Hartsock. Benjamin Sr was supposedly s/o son of Jonathan Herzog [1660] and Hannah Guizebard, was born in 1774 in Or 1790 - USA and died in 1848 in Kosciusko County, Indiana at age 74.
Your information regarding these individuals and their lineage was greatly appreciated. Supposedly, Charity was a sister of Benjamin Sr.
I thank you for the information on the grave site in Seneca and hope to visit it someday in the near future. If you are willing, I would honor a copy of the picture in email and any other information you do not mind sharing on this line.
