Hi Laurie - I attempted to post you a message eariler but it appears for some reason it did not post so I will attempt to re-post. Amrah Hartsook is very much a part of my family, though she never knew it. You see, my great-grandfather was to marry Amrah Hartsook, but two weeks before the wedding he ran off with the maid-of-honor, my great-grandmother. My great-grandmother felt badly about doing that to her best friend and in an attempt to make ammends wanted to name her first daughter after Amrah, though my great-grandfather was against that idea and wouldn't allow my great-grandmother to name their daughter after his ex-fiance. When my great-grandmother was giving birth to their second daughter, my great-grandfather was away on business, laying the railroad tracks in North Carolina, so no one was around to keep my great-grandmother from naming my grandmother, Amrah Hartsook Fortune, born March 30, 1918 in Rocky Mt, NC. My mother was named after her God mother, "Jo" and after her mother, thus introducing the name "Jo-Amrah" into the family. My cousin who is only 2 months older then me was named after my mom and I was named after my grandmother. Please get in touch with me via this website. My family and I have been in search of learning as much as we can about Amrah Hartsook, and you might be able to help us. I have told my family of your posting and inquire about Amrah Hartsook, they too may be posting to your inquire as well and filling you in on areas that I am not too sure of, such as my great-grandparents names. I do hope all is well with you, and I hope to hear from you soon. Notify Administrator about this message?
