Barnett McConnell's book on the Hartsock's of Southgwest Virginia states that James Remley Hartsock was married to Cassandra Culbertson on 11 Sep 1879. He also shows that James had another wife by the name of Polly Gully. James was born about 1852 in Scott County and died before 13 Nov 1899 when his will was probated. Cassandra Culbertson was born 27 Mat 1852 and died on 10 May 1923. She was the daughter of Jephatha and Elmira Culbertson. I have the same children for them that you have.
James was the son of Anderson S.(1823-1860)and Catherine (Burke / Burk)(1825-1890) Hartsock, the grandson of John (1788-ca1869) and Sarah (Lamar / Lemarr) Hartsock, the great grandson of Peter (1761-) and Catherine (Lea) Hartsock, the 2nd great grandson of Peter (ca1733-ca1800) and Sarah (ca1739-) Hartsock / Hertzog / Herzog, the 3rd great grandson of Peter (ca1700-ca1763)and Anna Margaretha (Kuntze/Koontz)(1712-1ca 1783) Hertzog/Herzog, and the 4th great grandson of Englebert and Anna Catharina Hertzog.
