German records show that Englebert Hertzog had four sons by 1700. Probably Hieronimus, quite possibly Pieter m. 1722, and maybe Henrich Wilhelm. Englebert may have had other sons after 1700.
George Hertzog came to Philadelphia on the ship Phoenix 1749. His family migrated to York Town, York County, PA. Pieter's family migrated to Libertytown, Md. circa 1747-50. York, PA is less than 60 miles from Libertytown. Catherine Elizabeth Hertzog (dau. of George) married Philip Stentx. George (son of Pieter) married Judit Stentz. Carolina Dorothea Hertzog (dau. of George) married John Martin Schenck/Shenk Sr. Sara Hertzog (possibly Pieter's youngest daughter) married Michael Shank. (Maria) Magdalen (possibly dau. of George) married Johannes Schenk.
Pieter's son George had daughters Catharine Elisabetha and Magdalenah.
Is this all coincidence? Does anyone know anything about where George (Ship Phoenix, 1749) came from and who his parents are?
