This certainly is a puzzle and I would appreciate thoughts from others.
Grace L. Tracey and John P. Dern, Pioneers of Old Monocacy 1781 p. 380 writes, "29 Sep 1759, Lot #65 Monocacy Manor Lessee: Peter Hertzog, 100 A for lives of Margaret Hertzog 55, Nicholas Hertzog 32.
This would indicate Margaret was born in 1704. Which means she is not Margaret Kones/Hertzog b. 1712 or else Margaret Kones/Hertzog was not born in 1712. Is this Margaret really Anna Margritha Schmidten who married a Pieter Hertzog in Germany in 1722.
I randomly chose 75 women born before 1900 from Mary Mae Hartsough's book and calculated the oldest age at which women gave birth. There were two women who gave birth at age 45. Did any of your ancestors give birth at an age greater than 45?
If Nicholas was 32 in 1759 than he must have been born in 1727 and baptized in 1735. This would indicate that although we have the baptism records of Pieter's children that doesn't necessarily mean they were born in the same year they were baptized. What are your thoughts? Please anybody jump in and give me you ideas.
