Rebecca J. Graham was b. ca 1836 to Rebecca Ellison and her husband Moses Graham in Jackson Co., GA. Several sources say that Rebecca Jane Graham, the sister of William Wesley and Edward M. Graham, married on 28 Feb 1858 Elijah P. Flanigan, b. 1836 to Elizabeth Rebecca Shaw and Luke F. Flanigan, d. 1865, and that she was called Jane (how her name appears on the 1860 census). An Elijah Flanigan was a private in Co. D in Jackson Co., organized May 1862. Was Elijah killed during the Civil War? On the 1860 Jackson Co. census, House District, one finds Elijah P. Flanigin, b. ca 1836, Jane, b. ca 1836, and their children:
Amanda Flanigan, b. ca 1858
Louisa Flanigin, b. Mar 1860
I have not yet located Jane and these children after the 1860 census. Interestingly, Rebecca and Luke Flanigan in the 1880 census were living in Gwinnett Co. next door to Sintha Ellison, age 50. Can anyone provide information on what became of Rebecca Jane Graham Flanigan and her children? Did she have more children prior to Elijah P. Flanigan's death? Did she remarry?
