Graham's of Bamberg, SC

Sort of a successful DNA announcement! :)

My family history had a rumor that my 3rd-great-grandfather, Zachariah Goodwin Graham born about 1791 in Orangeburg Co, SC had siblings.

He had an older sister, Mary Graham, who married James Brabham, son of Joseph & Flora (nee McPhail) Brabham. They settled in Amite Co, MS around 1810-ish.

Mary & Zach also had an older brother James Graham, but we didn't have much information on him. Only that he had a large family and had settled in MS (maybe).

Some of us had noticed a James Graham, born 1788 in SC, who married Ellender Brewer in Amite Co, MS in 1811, and settled in Washington Parish, LA. He had a large family and one son named Zachariah! Too good to be true!

We found some descendants of this James Graham and were able to get one to test his DNA. This was compared to a DNA test from a Zachariah descendant and we found a match...

36 out of 37 markers!

Combining all the information we are very confident that this James is the brother of Mary and Zachariah.

If you are descended from one of these siblings, and are interested in learning more, please let me know. :)

Thanks,
Kirk Graham
